i work at the lamp lighter in st paul. aparently its the law and its going to be put in place all across the country. It pretty much sucks… they raised our shift fees $8 an hour to cover the $7.25 that they have to pay us, and then the government takes taxes out. So basically we lose somewhere in the neighborhood on $9 for every 8 hour shift. Not that it makes a huge difference, but it certainly didnt make things any better. Also, now that we have to clock in, girls are limited to 35 hours a week so that they dont have to pay for bennefits and stuff. And we can drink at work so workers comp doesnt really apply cause most ppl will be drunk if they fall off a pole or slip and break their ankle. plus all of the girls who were on government assistence either had to quite or lose their assistence.
